A Human-centric Approach to Operational Awareness and Risk Management.

Product Innovation & Ecosystem Extension Drive Triple-Digit Growth & Global Expansion

Today is one of those days we all cherish as leaders and technologists, a day when we can thank our customers, our partners, and our employees for helping us achieve record-breaking revenue, license, and services growth. The last six months have been incredible—433% YoY new license growth; 250% growth in DTEX i3 team investigations and Managed Insider Risk Services; 170% increase in Windows and Linux server licenses.

Our strategy has been simple: Deliver innovative technology that solves real operational and cyber security challenges with human telemetry and actionable intelligence by delivering the context required to detect, respond, and prevent insider threats, data loss incidents, and compromised users. We’ve worked tirelessly with our customers and partners to understand the nuances of the endpoint data they have to work with, the shortcomings of legacy solutions and their ineffectiveness and inaccuracy, and the missing link around user behavior related to data loss events. And that’s what makes today’s news so exciting, the hard work has paid off and this is only the beginning.

Our growth and expansion over the last six months is because we realized one important reality with our customers: It’s about the data, not the lake! And clean data starts and ends with the workforce, the most intelligent sensor in every enterprise. The Difference is Human. This was the guiding principle in the development of our DMAP+ technology. We understood that if we could accurately capture the genuine intentions of the workforce—WITHOUT invading privacy—as they interacted with applications, systems, and data, that we could deliver a signal void of noise that could be acted on with confidence. Contextual and precise human behavioral telemetry used to enrich the ones and zeros collected by malware, data, and network sensors brings a new level of visibility and clarity to IT and security operations. It brings acute awareness and actionable intelligence about workforce engagement, about risk, about operational efficiency, about threats.

Today’s news is incredibly gratifying, but our journey has only begun! We are excited about the accelerated innovations of our Workforce Cyber Intelligence & Security platforms and look forward to announcing significant capabilities during the next few months. We’ve built a next generation solution that delivers on all the promises of UEBA, endpoint DLP, insider risk, digital forensics, remote workforce security, and employee monitoring, while leaving all the invasive features, heavy maintenance requirements, arduous deployment limitations, and months of waiting for results on the lab floor. We are embracing the human firewall and helping organizations, large and small, recognize that the workforce is the missing link to their operational and security strategy, not their weakest.

Let’s examine some of our accomplishments from the last six months that brought us to today.

Global Strategic Partnerships
It has been a busy year on the partnership front. We formed a formal public-private partnership with The MITRE Corporation, to elevate insider risk programs and advance human-centric security. Under this partnership, MITRE chose DTEX to help them conduct collaborative research and deliver MITRE Inside-R Protect as a set of data-driven, community-oriented service offerings that help industry and government organizations elevate their insider risk programs using behavioral sciences. After inking a strategic partnership with Splunk to deliver insider risk solutions, DTEX announced its presence on the CrowdStrike App Store, expanding the reach of its next-gen Workforce Cyber Security platform through integrations with major players in the cyber security market.

Product/Service Enhancements
Beginning in August 2021, DTEX delivered an array of enhancements to multiple modules within its Workforce Cyber Intelligence & Security Platform including an update to DTEX InTERCEPT for Behavioral Data Loss Prevention. Included in this enhancement were innovative capabilities including an inferred sensitivity model that uses native machine learning to attribute the sensitivity classification of a file without the need to inspect its contents; Zero Trust DLP Policy Enforcement capabilities that deliver tiered policy administration based on people-centric risk profiles including teachable moment workflows and reporting, and the ability to block processes and lock users out of their device and network; and lastly Data Lineage Mapping that provides advanced data usage, augmentation and flow visualizations with contextual, sequenced historical user behavior attribution.

New capabilities were also delivered for the DTEX InTERCEPT for Insider Risk module including those that exceed the minimum requirements set forth by the National Insider Threat Task Force (NITTF) for User Activity Monitoring (UAM) and CNSSD 504 as well as new Automated User Investigation Report features that deliver a dynamic risk summary escalation report generated with one-click from the Analyst Investigations Dashboard.

Groundbreaking Research
DTEX Systems’ mission to help organizations worldwide better understand their workforce, protect their data, and make human-centric operational investments goes far beyond its customer base. Coinciding with Insider Threat Awareness Month, DTEX released its new Ponemon Institute Study, The State of Insider Threats 2021: Behavioral Awareness & Visibility Remain Elusive, to offer additional insight around identifying and mitigating the increased risks associated with insider threats. This was followed by the release of its 2022 Insider Risk Report which drew directly from real investigations and data collected by the DTEX Insider Intelligence and Investigations (i3) team throughout 2021. This groundbreaking research uncovered key industry trends including the emergence of a fourth insider threat persona–the ‘Super Malicious Insider.’

Notable Industry Recognition
After being recognized as the User Behavior Analytics Platform of the Year in the 2021 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards, DTEX InTERCEPT was named Best-in-Class UEBA Solution in the 2021 GigaOm Radar Report for UEBA. This recognition is a testament to DTEX’s human-centric approach to risk engagement as well as the convergence of UEBA, DLP, and Insider Threat solutions in today’s security landscape. This was further proved with DTEX InTERCEPT’s latest recognition as Gold Winner in the Insider Threat and Data Leakage Prevention categories for the 2022 Cybersecurity Excellence Product/Service Awards.
